Lane United Partners with Fit for 90

Lane United FC is excited to announce that we are partnering with Fit for 90 for the 2016 season. Fit for 90 is a highly researched player monitoring system that aims at recognizing and preventing injuries before they become serious. The system tracks and identifies signs of stress, fatigue, and under-recovery among players and notifies the medical and coaching staff to ensure that each player’s recovery time is optimally calculated for their specific needs.

The health and safety of our players is one of Lane United’s highest priorities and we are eager to begin implementing this new system in the 2016 season. With the Fit for 90 system, players log their daily fitness levels by completing a short readiness questionnaire. This 2-3 minute survey evaluates their health status by having players record their sleep patterns, stress levels, fatigue, mood, and other factors. The system runs these responses through a readiness score algorithm that will indicate each player’s risk of injury.

Fit for 90 was founded by Dr. John Cone, a Sports Science Consultant for the USSF who has a wide range of experience coaching and playing soccer at the professional and college levels. When asked about the new partnership with Lane United, Cone said, “We are extremely excited to be delivering player monitoring to Lane United for the coming season. We have had great successes with the US Women’s National Team, some MLS and NCAA college programs. We are thrilled to be adding a quality PDL club to our growing list of clients.”

Lane United and Slocum Establish Partnership

Slocum will sponsor Lane United’s youth jerseys, which will go on sale soon.

 

Lane United FC has established a partnership with the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Drs. Brick Lantz, Thomas Macha and Daniel Fitzpatrick, sports medicine surgeons at Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, will serve as official team physicians for Lane United FC. At least one of the doctors will be present at each of the team’s eight home matches.

“We are thrilled to partner with Oregon’s premier sports medicine provider,” said Dave Galas, Lane United’s managing director. “Our partnership with Slocum ensures excellent medical care for the Reds’ players over the course of the season.”

As part of the partnership, Slocum will also provide athletes from KidSports, the Eugene-based youth sports non-profit organization, the opportunity to attend and participate in home matches throughout the year. KidSports will receive a block of tickets to each Sunday home match, and KidSports athletes will participate in pre-game and halftime activities. Slocum will also be a kit sponsor for Lane United’s youth jerseys, which will be available for purchase by the general public.

Tetherow Golf Resort Joins Lane United as a Sponsor

Lane United FC is pleased to announce that it has reached a partnership deal with Tetherow Golf Resort in Bend, Oregon. Tetherow will be an official sponsor for Lane United’s training kits for the 2014 inaugural season, according to Lane United Managing Director Dave Galas and Tetherow managing partner Chris van der Velde.

Tetherow opened in 2008 and was named the “#1 Best New Course You Can Play in the Country” that year by Golf Magazine. It has since made several lists of the top courses in the U.S. and has expanded its offerings to include two restaurants, lodging, real estate and events. “We are already recognized as a premier destination for golf in the Northwest,” said Tetherow’s Chris van der Velde. “With the Northwest having become such a destination for soccer in the past few years, we felt that a partnership with LUFC would provide synergy between Tetherow and the Eugene/Springfield communities.”

Tetherow was a sponsor of the WPSL Oregon Rush women’s team in Bend, a fact which delighted the Lane United coach John Galas. “They’ve already shown in their short history that they support grassroots soccer in the Northwest. Both of Chris (van der Velde)’s sons play soccer, and he was surrounded by the beautiful game in the Netherlands where he had a very successful pro golf career himself. So he’s very familiar with and supportive of the sport.”

“We are very excited by this partnership with Tetherow Golf Resort,” said Dave Galas, the Lane United managing director. “They have shown that they are the best at what they do and we aspire to be the same. This will be an exciting summer in Deschutes and Lane counties, and we hope to get a lot of our fans over to Tetherow and build our fan base in Bend.”

Lane United FC Announces Three-Year Partnership with Oakshire Brewing

Lane United FC is extremely pleased to announce that it has arrived at a three-year partnership deal with the Eugene-based Oakshire Brewing. Oakshire will be the Reds’ exclusive match jersey sponsor and their Public House will serve as a venue for Lane United’s community events, according to the club’s managing director Dave Galas.

Galas and Oakshire founder Jeff Althouse began working on the deal in January when the soccer club began its push for sponsors for the upcoming year. “Oakshire was immediately excited about supporting Lane United, and we were excited about working with them,” said Galas. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Oakshire to make the experience for our fans a richer one, but also in working to broaden the exposure of soccer in general in the community.”

“Oakshire is excited to help build exposure for Lane United Football Club – we feel this team will be very positive for our local community, and for the soccer community in Oregon,” added Althouse.

Both Galas and Althouse have said that plans are in the works for World Cup viewing parties at the brewery’s public house during the month-long tournament in June and July. The building, which re-opened in May 2013 in the Whiteaker neighborhood of Eugene, boasts an open pub feel with a small outdoor patio, well-suited for such events, said Althouse.

Lane United FC operates a semi-professional soccer franchise in the United Soccer Leagues’ (USL) Premier Development League (PDL). They will begin their season in May, competing against other teams in the PDL’s Northwest Division. Home games will be at the Willamalane Center on 32nd Street in Springfield. The club was founded in 2013 and is headed by an ownership group that includes longtime Eugene Emeralds owner Dave Elmore.

Oakshire was founded in October 2006 and is now a 15-barrel production company.
