Sporting Director/Head Coach: John Galas

Sporting Director and Head Coach John Galas enters his third year at the helm of Lane United FC in 2016.  Coach Galas holds both a USSF A License and an NSCAA Premier Diploma and brings over 16 years of coaching experience to LUFC.

Galas previously held coaching positions for: Portland Thorns FC, Real Salt Lake Academy, Florida State University, University of Oregon, the Portland Timbers, and the Arizona Wildcats. Galas also interned for Liverpool FC while earning his MBA in Football Industries at the University of Liverpool.

John is married to Anna Galas and they have two boys, Caleb and Hayden.  When he is not spending time coaching, or with his family, you can find him supporting his boyhood club, Liverpool FC.

Managing Director: Dave Galas

Dave studied mathematics and biology at the University of Oregon and has since worked in software and hardware engineering at the Los Alamos National Labs, UO Neuroscience Labs, and PMC Sierra. He founded Lane United in 2013 seeking to put a team in the vacant Civic Stadium. Dave continues to work with the Eugene Civic Alliance towards that goal.

His passion for soccer extends back to his childhood in Europe watching Liverpool FC, St. Etienne, and the Dutch national team. His favorite footballers of all time are Kenny Dalglish and Johan Cruyff.

Assistant Coach: Conner Cappelletti

Conner grew up playing soccer all over the country. Originally from Tennessee, Conner has lived in Germany, Seattle, Alabama, Indiana, and Kansas City. Conner currently resides in Eugene where he serves as the Assistant Coach for Lane United FC and is also a coach for local youth soccer club, Eugene Timbers Futbol Club. He currently holds a USSF National “B” Coaching License. Conner played Division I soccer in the Horizon League at Valparaiso University. He also played 2 years in the PDL with the Indiana Invaders and Kansas City Brass. Coach Cappelletti made an appearance for Lane United FC in 2013 during their inaugural game against the Portland Timbers U-23 squad. Three of his favorite footballers are Zinedine Zidane, Andrea Pirlo and Thierry Henry.

Athletic Trainer: César Ocampo

César grew up in San Francisco where he attended S.F. State University and played for their men’s soccer team. He earned his Bachelors degree in kinesiology in 1995 before moving to Eugene and earning his Master’s degree in athletic training at the University of Oregon in 1998. In addition to serving as Lane United’s Athletic Trainer, he currently works as the Certified Athletic Trainer for North Eugene High School.
