2018 Roster Update: International Players

April 13, 2018

LUFC adds two more international players to this season’s roster,  Glorie Amanda from Oregon State and Sergio Diaz from Post University.

Glorie Amanda– An up-and-coming forward from Edmonton, Alberta, joined Whitecaps FC Residency in September 2014 after playing for FC Edmonton Reserves for a year and will be with Oregon State in the spring. Amanda started 22 of 27 regular season matches for Whitecaps FC U-18 Residency, scoring 14 goals. In the playoffs, he added another three goals in five starts and six appearances. Amanda says, “I’m really excited to be apart of this group. I’m ready for the challenge and I can’t wait to play my part”

“Glorie Amanda will be a fan favorite this summer.  He is a true #9, and a pure goalscorer.  Having spent time with Vancouver Whitecaps residency program he comes to us with great pedigree.  Having another quality striker join us from Oregon State and following in the footsteps of Jordan Jones and Timmy Mueller, Glorie should have a productive summer in preparation for his first PAC-12 season in the fall.” – John Galas

Sergio Diaz –Originally from Madrid, Spain joins LUFC after his standout freshman season at Post University. Diaz was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Week several times and

Sergio recorded his first-career hat trick in the Eagles’ 4-2 victory over Holy Family. This season Sergio lead the Eagles with nine goals and five assists assists. He was third in the CACC in both goals and assists.

“Sergio is very technical, intelligent central midfield player that can also play as a 7, or 11.  He’s coming to us highly recommended, and coming off a wonderful fall season notching 9 goals, 5 assists and starting 17 games.  I’m hoping he can add that same production to Lane United this summer.” – John Galas
