LUFC has committed returning brother-team and local talents from South Eugene High School, Collin and Casey ChubbFertal to add to the strength of this season’s roster. The ChubbFertal brothers join LUFC for the second year in a row from Redland’s University.
Casey ChubbFertal – A Redland’s University senior midfielder, Casey started and played in Redland’s 25 games scoring 11 goals and 8 assists to total 30 points. He was 24th in the country in Division III soccer in goals scored and helped lead the team to a school record breaking No 7 ranking and an Elite 8 appearance in the national championship. Casey said, “I am very excited to be able to play for Lane again this up coming season. It has been amazing to see the progress of the team and club over the last couple years and am excited to be apart of it again as it continues to grow its fan base and raise the level of play on the field.”
“Casey has been an important player for our club in the past and we are delighted to welcome him back for another season. How he hasn’t been signed as a professional yet is a bit of a mystery. I certainly hope this season helps him in his development and showcases his talents.” – John Galas
Collin ChubbFertal – During his freshman season, Collin played in 16 games throughout the season netting 4 goals out of 16 shots, 7 of which were on target. He ended the season with 8 points and is looking to keep the momentum of his goalscoring freshman season into this LUFC season. “I’m excited to play and compete with some of the best players in college soccer and being a homegrown I’m exited to prove my worth and and do what I can to help this club exceed its expectations.” says Collin.
“It is a pleasure to welcome Collin back to Lane United. His composure and versatility on the field greatly strengthens our squad. The Red Aces and the fans will be happy to cheer for another homegrown player.” -John Galas
